Our Journeys

Every journey includes a night in a lodge or camp to start and finish the wilderness immersion. On trail, we drink safely from rivers, prepare and eat the food we carry together, keep watch by a fire at night and sleep under the stars or in simple tents. The facilitation support we provide includes a 45 minutes consultation call prior to your journey, reading materials, our powerful deep nature connection process, a 30 minutes follow-up call and membership to our global alumni community.

“I would not exchange the immensity of the experience I had for any of the luxuries I left behind.”

— Chantelle Hurford, Group Executive Director, VWV

BOTSWANA

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world, is surrounded by the Kalahari desert and is a haven for abundant animal and plant life. It is wild and remote. Moremi Game Reserve, the first reserve in Africa to be proclaimed by a tribal authority, protects much of the deltas rich and breathtakingly beautiful habitat.

Our wilderness journey takes place in a secluded southern corner of the world famous Chief’s Island within Moremi Game Reserve. Seasonal floods transform the area into a wonderland, with large tree-ringed islands connected by lush floodplains and channels filled with crystal clear water pure enough to drink. The region is home to high densities of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, numerous antelope species, lion, leopard and wild dog.

SOUTH AFRICA

Kruger National Park

The Makuleke is located in the far north of the Kruger National Park, between the Limpopo River to the north and the Levuvhu River to the south. Owned by the Makuleke people, this concession is one of the last remaining outposts of true wild-land in South Africa. 25 000 hectares of uncharted valleys, lush riverine bush, rugged gorges, fever tree forests and remote floodplains hold more than 75% of the biodiversity of Kruger National Park. With large free-roaming herds, a rich archaeological footprint and a tangible sense of solitude, the Makuleke is an ideal wilderness journey destination.

“Not to be confused with team-building; this process changed the way I think. When a human mind really connects with nature, we have the conditions for innovation.”
